In 1997, at Stavropol State University, he defended his PhD thesis in specialty 07.00.03 – General history (modern and contemporary history) on the topic “Austrian economic school and its influence in Russia at the end of the 19th - beginning of the 20th centuries.”
In 2003, at Rostov State University he defended his doctoral dissertation in the specialty 07.00.03 - general history (modern and contemporary history) on the topic “The Slavic factor in the development of Hungary in the last third of the 19th - early 20th centuries. (ethnopolitical, social and foreign policy aspects).”
Chairman of the Stavropol regional branch of the Russian Historical Society from 2014 to the present.
