SOME ISSUES OF THE HISTORY OF ROYALTY IN EARLY MEDIEVAL ENGLAND IN ANGLO-AMERICAN HISTORIOGRAPHY OF THE SECOND HALF OF XX CENTURY
Abstract
In the article a complex of problems in context of royalty development is considered. The issue of time of emergence and the role of regal power in state genesis is debatable. The author pays attention to differences of opinion among Anglo-American medievalists.Nevertheless, they unanimously agree about decisive influence of the Crown on many aspects of social-economic and political life of Early Medieval England.
