В статье освещаются этапы формирования венгерской общины в США, возникшей в результате иммиграции в XVII- первой половине XIX вв. В центре внимания автора - участие венгров в войне за независимость США и гражданской войне, а также проблемы адаптации венгерских переселенцев в Америке.

The article deals with the process of formation of Hungarian community in the USA as a result of immigration in the XVII - the first half of the XIX centuries. The author focuses attention on the participation of Hungarians in the War for Independence and the Civil War, as well as problems of adaptation of Hungarian immigrants in America.
